Disney executives, in 1995 (before the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship was created), decided to enter the cruise field. After countless brainstorming days they decided to fashion a ship, which was designed in Fincantieri, Italy, which was made resembling the luxurious and highly esteemed 1920′s ocean liners. Disney Wonder is a very admirable and elegant vessel which holds true to this style! The Disney cast is engraved throughout this magnificent ship and no art was spared. This vessel has proven to the world that a ship can remain prestigious even though it is family friendly and family oriented. I believe it is that “family focus” that has set this ship apart! Yes, it is true, there are many cruise lines that offer several children’s programs, what sets Disney apart is that it offers all of that and a bag of chips! Everything you can imagine from kite making workshops to evening stage revues. There are several activities that the family will enjoy and have fun doing together!
You will be happy to know that although Disney Wonder Cruise Ship was built in 1999 it was fully refurbished in 2006! The cruise line alternates between three and four night cruises which depart from port Canaveral to Nassau, Castaway Cay and finally Key West (Florida). I would recommend the 4 night cruise as it allows for extra time at sea and allows you to enjoy all the ship has to offer!
“Everything about this cruise was 5 stars the service, the food, the entertainment, and not to mention the ship itself. The cruise was amazing and I recommend it to anyone!” — Daniel McDonald
Now you might ask yourself… “What if I don’t have kids, is it for me?” or “I want time away from my kids… is this a cruise line I should check out for some adult friendly fun?” The answer is yes! And the good news is places like the Vista Spa, Quiet Cove Pool, Cove Cafe, and Route 66 entertainment district are rarely crowded and full of adults.
We will guarantee if you pick Disney Cruise Lines you will not be disappointed! I went on a cruise for the second time, as a family, a few months ago aboard Disney’s Wonder Cruise. They have an incredible staff for kids programs. We stayed next to a few families with kids ranging from four to thirteen. Our 1st day the kids were a bit nervous, however after the 2nd or 3rd day until the end of the trip, all we heard was “Bye Dad… we’ll see you later” as they went out to Disney Quest or some of their other events.
Second Time for on a Cruise Ship…First Time to Florida and the East Coast Islands
Disney Wonder Cruise Ship started its voyage in Port Canaveral and first stopped off in:
Nassau,
Castaway Cay
and finally Key West (Florida)
From day one we were just amazed and impressed with the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship staff, their housekeeping, Dining, and not to mention Entertainment venues including the latest Movies and shows (one or two per night). My only regret about this cruise was “I should gone on a Disney cruise sooner” however, I will do it again and soon. I would like to assure you that anyone will have Fun and they won’t regret it.
The last cruise that I took was with Carnival Cruise Lines! Although I had fun it was not a cruise that I would be able to take me smaller children on and of had them enjoy the cruise as much as I did!
Breaking Down The Disney Wonder Cruise Ship and Packages
There are not a lot of options when it comes to booking a cruise with Disney. What I will begin talk about is basic cruise packages and then end with some of the “special” cruises & then some of the add ons which are available, in other pages…
What is Included in the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship Packages?
Of all the cruise ships I have been on, Disney Cruises offers the most complete packages of all the cruise ships I have been on. To begin, included in the price is your stateroom, most onboard entertainment, meals, activities for guests of all ages and more. But if you choose one of their all inclusive packages you also get before and/or after cruise lodging, admission to the Disney theme parks, transportation to and from the ship and to and from your hotel and meals. You can also get all of your rides included for 1 low price.
